This AVSEC (Aviation Security) course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of security practices and procedures in the aviation sector. Comprising 11 in-depth lessons, this course is essential for all professionals involved in airport and aviation security.
In the introduction, we will present an overview of the course, including the learning objectives, the importance of aviation security and how this course will enable participants to play a critical role in protecting civil aviation from acts of unlawful interference. We will also cover the main legislation and organizations responsible for aviation security.
Lesson 1: Fundamentals of Aviation Security
Content: History of aviation security, importance of AVSEC, major incidents and changes in legislation.
Objective: To understand the evolution of aviation security and its importance in preventing threats.
Lesson 2: International Regulations and Organizations
Content: ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), TSA (Transport Security Administration), ECAC (European Civil Aviation Conference) and their functions.
Objective: To learn about the main organizations and regulations that govern aviation security globally.
Lesson 3: Threats to Aviation Security
Content: Types of threats (terrorism, sabotage, cybercrime, etc.), risk analysis and examples of incidents.
Objective: To identify and understand the various threats affecting aviation security.

Content: Access control procedures, employee identification, restricted areas and surveillance.
